A generation of women grew up hearing that being strong and independent meant berating and beating down men. They claimed they didn't need a man, and they could do anything a man could do, only better.

Sure, that slogan might sound cute on a crop top, but it's not true.

But feminists ran with it. They said marriage and babies could wait, and cooking, homemaking, and family life were "misogynist" things that trad wives were forced to do. These progressive princesses believed careers came first, and any dependence on a husband or man was a personal failure.

And while all of this was going on, men were getting a different message.
