The O'Keefe Media Group on Thursday released undercover video of the Vera Institute Director confessing the non-profit "tips illegals off" on ICE agents' whereabouts by using secret "notification system."
"There's been some really great work that has been done to create [ICE] notification systems," Santiago Mueckay, Director of Advocacy for the Vera Institute of Justice told an OMG undercover reporter.
Mueckay boasted about how the Vera Institute helps illegals evade immigration officials.
"We know which states are being targeted…If you see someone [ICE agents], you can text the group, and then it'll go on a website… so people can avoid the area," Mueckay said.
"We [Vera] keep track of everything that's happening with ICE," he said.
The Justice Department issued a statement in response to OMG's video.
"This Department of Justice will not tolerate groups or apps that assist illegal aliens with evading capture and disclose the location of our law enforcement. Any threats to the safety of federal agents will be taken with the utmost seriousness and thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served," the DOJ said.
The DHS responded: "This individual appears to be engaged in obstruction of justice and protecting criminals. Our brave ICE officers are getting the worst of the worst out of this country: terrorists, vicious gang members, murderers, rapists, child pedophiles… Our ICE law enforcement already faces an 800% increase in assaults against them. We will take action."
