FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer and conservative commentator Alexis Wilkins announced their engagement Sunday in a social media post.
Wilkins announced the news Sunday with a black-and-white photo showing the smiling couple and her new diamond ring.
"Went and got the law involved," Wilkins joked in the post, accompanied by a ring and heart emoji.
Patel quickly reposted the announcement with heart and engagement-ring emojis of his own.
According to the New York Post, Patel, 46, and Wilkins, 27, first met at an event in Nashville in 2022 and began dating in early 2023.
The couple's relationship has hardly escaped the political spotlight.
Wilkins, a country singer and outspoken conservative, has repeatedly found herself targeted because of her relationship with Trump-appointed FBI Director Kash Patel.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Wilkins publicly fired back in August 2025 after internet personalities began circulating wild claims that she was somehow a foreign intelligence "honeypot" sent to compromise Patel.
Wilkins blasted the accusations as ridiculous and pointed to her work, Christian faith, relationship, and personal integrity as evidence against the online smears.
Later that month, The Gateway Pundit reported that Wilkins filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against former FBI agent and podcaster Kyle Seraphin over allegations that he had described her as a "former Mossad agent" and "honeypot."
Those allegations are claims at the center of the litigation and have not been established as fact.
The attacks continued into 2026.
In July, The Gateway Pundit reported that Patel publicly torched MS NOW after the network claimed he had abruptly canceled plans to travel to Chicago to see Wilkins perform after being summoned to the White House.
The FBI called the report a "complete and total lie" and disputed several specific details in the story.
Despite all the noise, the couple has stayed together, and now they are headed to the altar.
