Well, why is that?

Maybe AI  and data centers and Flock cameras watching and recording our every move and transmitting them to data centers, where AI will use the data to create digital dossiers of us that will be used to control and fleece us aren't the duck's guts. Maybe – rather than amen'ing these things, we ought to be doing all we can to cripple and (better) kill them before they turn this country into a digital gulag.

Does anyone ask what's so great about AI? Beyond creating cute memes and videos with real-looking fake people that make it hard to separate what's real from what's fake? Is it more human to hear a human voice on the other end of a call – or an AI voice? Would you prefer dealing with people – or carbon intelligence?

To ask these questions is to answer them.

It begs the question, then. Why is McConservatism – embodied by Glenn Beck, among others – shilling so hard for AI and data centers? Well, the answer is probably the same one that answers the question about why the shill so relentlessly for Our Greatest Ally (and wars they're too old and fat to fight themselves and even when they were neither, that they dodged for one reason or another).

Don't worry about gas costing twice as much – or diesel costing three times as much. Don't worry about not being able to afford to eat. We have got to win the AI race! It is the most important thing in the world!

Which is true.

Depending on who you are. Depending on how much you're being paid to shill for it.
