Iran's celebration of its victory over the US is perhaps premature. Instead of finishing the job, Iran betrayed its own position by accepting a ceasefire that Iran had ruled out. Israel is still there. The US is still there. The US likely will find ways to defeat Iran's missiles, and the war will resume with Iran at a disadvantage from permitting its adversary to recover and increase its capabilities. It is always a mistake not to finish off an adversary.
As for the vaunted "ceasefire," Netanyahu immediately broke it by bombing Lebanon, causing Iran to again close the Strait. Not even PressTV says this morning whether the ceasefire is still in effect along with the scheduled negotiations. The likelihood is that Iran again has fallen for a deception. The English language Russian news service, Sputnik, reports that the US negotiating team consists of VP Vance, who claims Lebanon was not part of the cease fire, and Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner who Iran said were unacceptable as negotiators because they twice deceived Iran and used peace talks to set Iran up for sneak military attacks. If Iran backs down on this point as well, Iran's display of weakness will not lead to a resolution of the conflict.
