DENVER — The Colorado Appeals Court issued a decision Thursday morning that threw out the current prison sentence of Tina Peters, but affirmed her conviction on several felony charges.
Peters, the former Mesa County Clerk, has been serving a nine-year prison sentence for her role in orchestrating a breach of her county's election equipment. In August 2024, she was convicted of several felonies for allowing fellow election deniers access to local voting systems in search of voter fraud following President Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election.
